P.S. Zna li neko da objasni ovolike razlike u cenama. Prema nekim mojim izvorima cena u Nemačkoj bila bi oko 130-140 DEM. Međutim kako onda ELEKTRONIKA 011 daje iste module za samo 88 DEM ??? Jedino ako moduli nisu 80ns, mada oni tvrde da su 70. P.P.S Ako neko zna, odgovor mi je manje više hitan.

Trebao si ove znakove kojima si označio prvi deo rečenice produžiš do kraja pa bi ti bilo jasno. Evo ti konkretnog primera: Ja imam 386/25 ploču i SIPP memorijske jedinice. Trenutno imam 4MB u 1M jedinicama i popunjene su mi banke 0 i 1. Dakle, banke 2 i 3 su prazne. Dakle, zaboravio sam na full int. do daljnjeg. A za primer kolika je razlika u brzini, da kažem da mi landmark test pri 4M RAM-a daje brzinu od 25MHz a pri 8M RAM-a 33MHz. Paya

Ja imam 386SX na 16MHz, sa 5MB, dakle sve žive banke su popunjene, Interleave On, a HI pokazuje od 1.5 pa sve do 3.0 (?) stanja čekanja, a čipovi variraju, od 80 do čak 60 ns. 1MB u SIMM 256kB jesu 4 modula, koje mi platimo oko 110 DEM. 1 DEM je oko 21 dinar, a to je kurs sa šticungom i uračunatom carinom (šticung je danas bio 50%, carina oko 30%); DEM je Komponente inače naplaćujemo skuplje, jer nam nije u interesu da rasparujemo konfiguracije - stvar je u tome da nikada unapred ne raĘčunamo na prodaju jednog kućišta, ploče ili 1MB memorije. Kupci naših računara koji žele dogradnju memorije plaćaju 3200 za 1MB. Inače, zarada nije ni snu 50%: za 286 i 386SX mašine kreće se do 20%, a za 286/12 najviše do 15%. Stvar je u tome da "Most" funkcioniše kao preduzeće, a ne kao radnja│, pa otpadaju poznate varijante nabavke sa Tajvana koje se plaćaju na r´kuke, u gotovini prodavcu. Zoran Kehler

Ove nedelje nabavio sam trekbol (trackball), pa reko' da vam prenesem deo iskustva sa ovom "spravicom". Najjednostavnije rečeno, trekbol radi isto što i miš, ali ne mora da se pokreće ('pegla') po stolu. To je jedna kutijica sa kuglom i 3 tastera sa gornje strane. Okretanje kugle pokreće (grafički) kurzor, a tasteri imaju funkcije zavisno od softvera. Može da se koristi i kao PC Mouse i kao Microsoft Mouse (ima preklopnik sa donje strane). Na računar se spaja 9-pinskim konektorom, a u paketu se nalazi i 9/25 adapter. Naravno, reč je o serijskom portu - COM 1 ili 2, zavisno od toga koji je slobodan. U paketu se, osim trekbola i adaptera, nalaze uputstvo i 5.25"/360K disketa sa drajverom i softverom za crtanje i testiranje. Sam drajver nije bitan ako se trekbol koristi za Windows. WittyBall C-870 ima sledeće osobine: - rezolucija 400 dpi, - brzina okretanja 350 - 1050 mm/sek, - potrošnja struje <10 mA (iz serijskog porta), Hardverski/softverski minimum: - dva flopi drajva ili hard disk + jedan flopi, - 128 K RAM-a, - RS 232 serijski interfejs, - DOS 2.00 ili noviji. Ovo važi za drajver (mouse.com). Program za crtanje, IMAGE 72 traži sledeće: - DOS 3.00 ili noviji. - kompatibilan IBM računar, - herkules / EGA / VGA grafiku (karticu + monitor), - 640 K RAM-a, - štampač EPSON kompatibilan (i bez njega se može crtati). Posle instalacije drajvera i pokretanja IMAGE 72, vidi se grafički ekran sa tri dela: - polje ikona; svaki alat je predstavljen jednom ikonom, - paleta boja/uzoraka za popunjavanje; tu su takodje koordinate i indikatori, - vidljivi deo (640x313) radnog polja (1728x1300). Ikonama se bira vrsta rada - crtanje slobodnom rukom, crtanje kutija, krugova, elipsi, sprej, popunjavanje površina jednim od 16 uzoraka, odnosno boja, ubacivanje teksta, sve vrste sečenja, sastavljanja, upotreba sočiva za kontrolu pojedinih piksela, brisanje rad sa datotekama, štampanje crteža, podrška skenera. Tekst može da bude mali (small 8x8), normalan (system 9x14) i pisani (cursive 14x18). Veličina znakova se podešava od 1:1 do 8:1, znači 8 puta veći znakovi. Takodje, mogu se učitati text fajlovi i u željenoj veličini/fontu prikazati kao deo crteža. Na žalost, ne postoji mogućnost definisanja sopstve- nog fonta. Naravno, postoje i razni vizuelni efekti, kao što su senčenje, rotiranje, okretanje za 180 po vertikali ili horizontali, invertovanje; outline - posle ovog efekta ostaje samo okvir lika; slants - lik se ukosi na levo ili na desno; fade - lik delimično izbledi. Sve efekte je moguće ponavljati, i na taj način postići da se efekat ili poništi ili umnoži. Što se tiče operacija koje važe za bilo koju vrstu rada, to su invertovanje celog ekrana, prikaz celog radnog polja, poništavanje poslednje operacije. Crtež se može u bilo kom trenutku (i bilo koji deo) snimiti na disk, i to u nekom od ovih formata: .CUT, .MSP, .PCX, .PCC, .TIF, .IMG, .MID, .FAX. Snimanje i učitavanje u različitim formatima praktično znači da program može vršiti konverziju iz jednog formata u drugi. Uzorci ili boje mogu se editovati i snimiti kao .PAT ili .PAL fajl. Da bi se povećala preciznost, istovremeno sa trekbolom može se koristiti i tastatura, i to pre svega kurzorski tasteri na numeričkom delu. Kuglom se grafički kurzor može dovesti u neposrednu blizinu dela crteža koji se edituje, ali za poravnavanje koordinata mora se ići na upotrebu kurzorskih tastera. Srednji taster na trekbolu ima istu funkciju kao i <ScrollLock>. Služi za pomeranje ekrana po radnom polju, tj. za pomeranje prozora. U polju uzoraka uvek se vidi trenutni izbor, kao i koordinate X1, Y1, X2, Y2. Označene su tačke gornjeg levog i donjeg desnog ugla pravougaonika ili samo kurzora. Pravougaonik se koristi kod svih efekata da označi površinu na kojoj se deluje, kao i kod sečenja/lepljenja delova crteža. U nekoliko sledećih poruka poslaću neke svoje demo-crteže. AD

Nedavno sam poslao firmi AMD pismo da mi posalju podatke i reklamne uzorke za njihove (ko)procesore a ovi su mi izmedju ostalog poslali i seme za neko plavo cvece. Nazalost osim prospekata i pozivnica za uplatu nisam dobio, nisam trazio, nista vise.Ove prospekte sam dobio preko Byte-ovog Free Product Information. AMD u Byte-u reklamira svoj 80287 i prodaje ga za samo $99.00 ali posto sam ja ovde a ne tamo gde se to moze i kupiti preostaje mi samo da kukam i ceznjivo gledam to i sve druge divne stvari. Uzgred hteo bih ovom prilikom da pitam druge kako se snalaze sa kupovinom preko poste. Mislim prvenstveno na uplate inostra- nstvu.U Byte-u ima mnogoooooo divnih malih oglasa za daleko nize cene nego bilo gde u Evropi ali avaj. Znam da nije za ovu konfere- nciju ali mislim da je bliza tema PC.HARD ili PC.SOFT nego forum odsek jugoslavija gde su poceli da uce gramatiku. pozdrav vilic

*** IEEE 488 interface - GPIB-PC software *** Dali netko zna nešto o upravljačkom software-u za karticu IEE488. Dobio sam program GPIB-PC (verzija C.2, 1984, National Instruments). Uspio sam uspostaviti komunikaciju UV SPEKTROMETAR <--> PC ali je danji postupak otežan radi 'OLD TIMER' programa. Moguća je komunikacija pomoću BASICA i posebnih subrutina, ali ko još ima živaca za tako nešto? Načuo sam nešto o LAB WINDOWS programu istog tate ali ne znam da li je to ono pravo (Coca Cola). M O L I M Z A P O M O C ! Imam modem firme Logitech Technologies Inc. i to model QuickTel 4800 (MNP5). Dosada sam upotrebljivao CompuComov obican 2400 , koji se je stvarno izvrstno drzao , pa nisam imao sa njim nikakvih problema , posto zovem iz LJ ima tu i tamo dodje neka greska (a ponekad ni jedna!) ali sve u svemu sve je bilo OK. No , nabavio sam gore spomenuti modem sa MNP-jem ali mi se dogadjaju skoro neverovatne stvari.Ako se boze nedaj na Sezam prikljucim na 2400 bez MNP-ja baca mi tone i tone djubreta , pa mi ne preostaje nista drugo no ono alt-h :((.(Sa starim modemom to se dogadjalo vrlo vrlo retko,a ovde SVAKI put).Posto eto ukljucim i MNP5 ,moj modem i Viva nikako da se usaglase , da ja zapravo imam MNP5 , pa tako radim na MNP4 ... Pa i to radi toliko sporo , da opet nije izdrzljivo.Recimo ispise jednu recenicu , pa ceka 20-30 sek. pa opet malo ispise , pa opet ceka .... Predpostavljam , da zbog toga posto ima ogromno djubreta pa ne moze sve tako brzo da "prebavi" . Po drugoj strani , modem je sasvim lepo radio sa nekim drugim BBS. I eto , kazem , mozda ja neznam , pa posudim moj modem kolegi , koji isto tako korisnik Sezama i gle cudo : i ja i on imamo posve jednak init string ali on sa tim mojim modemom UOPSTE nije imao problema, cak ga je i pohvalio.Stvarno neznam sta nije u redu, posto recimo moj stari modem super radi a kad ubacim novog dolazi do gore spomenutog. Kod novog (MN5) modema imam init string : ATX3 S0=1 %C0 \J0 \N6 \V1 \Q3 Izvadio sam i moju serijsku karticu za misa , tako da sam otklonio sve moguce smetnje medju karticama - opet bez rezultata.Ostaje na istom. Ali to ipak nije taaako dobro. Naime, MNP u proseku istera 180% na tekstu, a na arhivama 110% (ako veza valja). MTE nije baš pravi MNP 5 (odn. jeste MNP 5, ali ne i MNP 4) pa zato daje slabije rezultate nego kada imaš MNP modem... Ipak, bolje išta... Prvul.

Svejedno, koristim MNP modeme već duže vreme, i mislim da im povećanje brzine nije nikakav naročiti adut, prema onome što pokazuju; glavna im je prednost čista veza u interaktivnom radu (naizgled čista).

Kada smo već kod emulacije MNP-a, mislim da sam negde video driver za MNP 5, čak mislim da je bio u source kodu (C). Jel' video još neko? Lepo nakačiš drajver, i radiš, jedino što DSZ nema teorije da radi (on pljucka direktno u port). A i za MTE, mislim da postoji public domain verzija (za ovo već nisam tako siguran, ali to me nikada nije zanimalo... imam MNP modem ). E, da, onaj source za MNP 5 je vrlo čitljiv, i vrlo je komično saznati kako se softverski dobija MNP 5... Prvul.

Mašine na SEZAM rade neprekidno, a još su uvek žive (jednu od njih sam i ja sastavio :)). Server kod mene u firmi smo namerno ostavljali upaljen danima - baš radi testiranja pouzdanosti, naročito diska i procesora (u našem slučaju i Ethernet karte). Sve je bilo OK. U najnovijem BYTE-u tip baš odgovara čitaocu da je on za praksu da se ni kućni PC uopšte ne gasi, i da ima već par godina povoljno iskustvo sa svojim mašinama. U svakom slučaju, ne treba kupiti PC sumnjive pouzdanosti (malo kućište, slab ventilator, disk koji se i inače jako greje, osnovna ploča sa discrete logic tehnikom, etc.). ZK

Imam problema treba mi veza PC-Honeywell 6/model 95 a radi se o slede'em... i jedan i drugi imaju diskete 5 1/4 '', e sada je problem citanja istih. Većina vas je verovatno čula za program koji se zove "Power Meter". Radi se o programu koji na dosta složen način testira računare, uključujući pojedinačne grupe testova za procesor, disk i video, a ima i simulacije obrade teksta, spreadsheet-a, baze podataka, CAD-a, kompajliranja. Rezultati nisu preterano pouzdani, i pride su iskazani u internim jedinicima programa PMU (Power Meter Units). Međutim, za ljude koji ćele kakvu-takvu složeniju sliku o nekom računaru, odličan je, daleko najbolji od svih gluposti kao VBENCH. CORE, SPEED, itd. Međutim, imao sam jednu 8-bitnu RS232 kartu (možda je još imam u nekom računaru) koja je iza uobičajenog konektora imala jedno produženje štampe koje se tačno "zabije" u onaj deo konektora za AT kartice. Dal pravi kratak spoj il ne, ne znam i dal to može da škodi takođe ne znam. Ali znam da sam je uvek stavljao u XT slot ;)

Narode, jel' zna neko gde u BEG mogu da pazarim tastaturu sa 84 ta- stera? Moja stara je pred ispustanjem duse. :(( Ovo zbog toga sto su kod mene burazerovi klinci, pa se ubise od Prince-a... Dule P.S. Nesto zaboravih: da li onaj joystick ciju semu i nacin gradnje opisase u jednom od proslogodisnjih brojeva MM-a mogu da nakacim na svoj racunar? Imam na I/O karti adapter i dobru volju da to cudo napravim. Ovi mali manijaci ce me oterati u debeli minus ako nastave da trose tastature k'o papirne maramice... :(

Evo ovako, Imam IBM Ps/1 i lepo mi šljaka ali mi je problem što nemam extended i expended cashe controler. Interesuje me da li neko zna da li ima i koliko košta memorijsko proširenje sa ova 2 ili sam extended c.c. Sada trenutno mogu da koristim neposredno samo 512 k od 1 Mb-a RAM-a što me baš nervira.U DeskView nemogu da pokrenem ništa. Ja tokoristim već godinama i mogu samo da se pohvalim. Inače, ona "hemikalija" je običan apotekarski alkohol sa malo arome i duplo većom cenom. Od kada mi je nestalo tijekućine, furam običan alkohol bez problema. Dešavalo mi se da drajv neće da pročita disketu - malo čišćenja i lepo je pročita. Sem toga, postane i malo tiši. To je analogija na čišćenje glava magnetofona i kasetofona; i njih povremeno moraš čistiti alkoholom i vatom. Pozdrav, DVV

Ako je bilo šta drugo, ne preporučujem upotrebu, jer se može lako desiti da "očišćena" glava dobije lepljivi sloj. "Običan apotekarski alkohol" je u stvari etil-alkohol i u principu nije štetan i može se koristiti za ovo, ali on ostavlja previše vode pri isparavanju, a i moć rastvaranja organskih nečistoća mu je manja.

Hi , da li neko moze da mi kaze da li je Centronix port (koji se nalazi na mojoj maticnoj ploci dvosmeran ) tj, da li neko zna nacin kako to mogu da proverim (da li postoji neki program za to)? U uptstvu za maticnu plocu sam jos pronasao da su na linijama ACK , PE , SelectIn , AUTOFEED ,ERROR, INIT SLCT "activ low signal" Sve ovo sto pitam je u vezi onog programa za povezivanje dva pc-a preko paralelnoga porta.
