This group of refugees included a very small number of violent criminals released from Castro's jails. Pierce Brosnan heads the cast of TOMORROW NEVER DIES in his second outing as the legendary Agent 007. Jonathan Pryce stars as the villainous media giant, while action film star Michelle Yeoh is Bonds formidable ally. In addition, the film features returning Bond veterans Desmond Llewelyn as Q, Dame Judi Dench as M, and Samantha Bond as Miss Moneypenny. Principal photography began on April 1st, at the new Eon Productions studio facility at Frogmore, northwest of London, and on the 007 stage at Pinewood Studios. Filming will also be accomplished on location in the U.K., Hamburg, Southeast Asia, Mexico, and off the coast of Florida. The films trademark Bond pre-title sequence was already completed in the snowfields of the French Pyrenees, centered around one of the few high-altitude operational airfields in Europe. TOMORROW NEVER DIES is a high-octane tale of media power as a lethal weapon. In the wrong hands, it can manufacture the news and even alter the course of history. It all starts quietly enough for James Bond during a routine assignment high in the Khyber Pass(what was once called the end of the known world(and ends with an international confrontation of epic proportions. Teri Hatcher has undeniably emerged as one of the most sought-after talents on both the large and small screens. Last fall, she earned widespread praise as part of the ensemble cast of the critically acclaimed MGM release 2 days in the Valley. Eddie Murphy's Biography ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Real Name: Edward Regan Murphy Birthday: April 3, 1961 Place of Birth: Brooklyn, NY Education: Roosevelt Jr.-Sr. High School A handsome, dashing comedy star, Eddie Murphy began as a stand-up performer at age 15 and four years later had become a cornerstone of NBC's Saturday Night Live (from 1980-84) with his dead-on parodies of Bill Cosby, Fred Rogers, and cartoon character Gumby, as well as his original comic creations Little Richard Simmons, a grown-up Buckwheat, and oily huckster Velvet Jones. Murphy made his feature debut as a wisecracking con opposite Nick Nolte in 48HRS. (1982), a huge commercial success which established him as Hollywood's most bankable black leading man. With his high-octane energy, disarming smile, and an immense self-confidence bordering on cockiness, he colorfully one-lined his way through such comedy features as Trading Places (1983), as a bum who does just that with financier Dan Aykroyd, and Beverly Hills Cop (1984), as wild card Axel Foley, as well as an all-expletives-included film version of a live stand-up performance, Eddie Murphy Raw (1987). Less successful were the Dudley Moore comedy Best Defense (1984) and the fantasy The Golden Child (1986). Murphy made a less-than-auspicious directorial debut with the violent, profanity-riddled Harlem Nights (1989), which, though profitable, did not match the huge grosses of his earlier starring vehicles. Only Coming to America (1988), with Murphy as a bride-hunting prince, effectively showcased his boyish star quality. Through Eddie Murphy Productions, the star became increasing involved during the late 1980s in overseeing productions for both the large and small screens. He produced several unsuccessful TV sitcom pilots as well as the 1990 TV movie, The Kid Who Loved Christmas. Murphy also created and executive-produced the CBS sitcom The Royal Family (1991-92), which prematurely ended with the death of series star Redd Foxx. Murphy's film career stalled in the early '90s as inevitable sequels seemed to exhaust the freshness and energy of his bad boy persona: Another 48 HRS (1990) and two Beverly Hills Cop follow-ups in 1987 and 1994 failed to ignite interest. The street-smart/casual and rock-star leather wardrobes were replaced with expensive Euro-tailoring, and the manic energy and honking laugh of yore were toned down to a complacent sleekness. Critics were unimpressed with the scripts, though, and the promising comedy thriller Vampire in Brooklyn (1995) was also deemed a waste of Murphy's still considerable talents. He next returned to broader comedy by updating the Jerry Lewis "classic," The Nutty Professor (1996). Murphy's personal life has had its ups and downs as well: he has been hit with several lawsuits for paternity, sexual harassment, and filming delays; writer Art Buchwald successfully proved that Coming to America had been based on a Buchwald storyline. La Haine (Mržnja) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kassovitz explains, "We shot HATE about twenty miles from Paris, on the outskirts of the city, in a housing project. Like in any other project, about 80% of the population and all of the youth have nothing to do. The kids don't go to school anymore. They hang around outside, smoking joints, and their only 'work' is usually small-time drug deals. And it's not even that it's so oppressive physically -- there are parks, soccer fields, trees. It's just that the people have no ambition, no direction, no goals and, finally, no hope." VINCENT CASSEL concurs with Kassovitz. "There is no program in these ghettos that offers a better education. On the contrary, authorities reject them. I think that as long as a given country, group or individual refuses to take responsibility for the mistakes they have made, things can only degenerate. Isn't each generation responsible for itself?" HUBERT KOUNDE recalls that, despite the harsh circumstances of filming in the housing project, things were not nearly as difficult as initially thought. "We thought it'd be much harder, but everything went just fine. We even made some good friends there. Of course, our experience was made better because Matthieu asked some of the people living in the ôciteö to be in the movie. Not only did it ease potential tensions, but it allowed reality to enter the world of fiction." This blending of reality and fiction was at the core of writer/director Kassovitz's dec0 k and white. "To me, the only way to remind the audience that they are not watching a comedy or a sentimental dr00:00:03 ie in black and white. It feels more real." And it was also the reality of life in the projects during the filming of this piece of fiction that proved an inescapable factor duri1024 "The people who live there look at you with pain in their eyes," recalls actor SAID T▒▒▒▒▒──────────────────────le 18%ave to stay behind. It's very hard." "The reality of the 'cite' is so strong," the actor continues, "that it's hard to look it in the face and, most of the time, people prefer to just close their eyes. Our ghettos are very interesting places where races and cultures mix and are a source of life. HATE is not just a film about brutality, it's a major lesson in friendship. If this movie helps people become aware of that, it's a really big step." HUBERT KOUNDE hopes that HATE will help increase people's awareness of the problems in the ghetto. "We tried to analyze how hate is formed in those ghettos and to put it on film. We're not trying to 'sell' anything and I'm not sure what the social implications of this film will be. I do know that movies like HATE are necessary, really necessary. And I also know that if you don't try, you don't get anything. Change doesn't happen without awareness." For writer/director Kassovitz, HATE could well label him a 'spokesman' for the French ghetto youth. This is, however, a goal to which he does not aspire. "You're a spokesman if you decide to be one," Kassovitz explains. "I definitely have things to say about police brutality and slip-ups. There are some events, some things that have happened in our city that I find really strange. The vision in HATE is definitely my vision, but it's not the only one, and it's not necessarily the right one..."

Ne bih se složio: mjuzikli, koliko se sećam, imaju i klasičnih elemenata glume, sa "govorenim" šlagvortom. Opera, opet, ceo tok vodi kroz muziku. No, zbilja, sad je ovo diskutabilno (ili nije?)... Ovog trenutka se prizivam samo dva filma ovog oblika (ima ih, valjda, i još, neko će se već setiti), a to su "The Wall" (ima i veza za Evitom: reditelj Parker) i "JC Superstar" (ima i ovde veza: kompozitor Webber). The Wall je svojevremeno reklamiran kao drama, JC Superstar kao rok opera. Ako sad proglasimo "Evitu" mjuziklom, čemu se protivim, baš ćemo ga zapetljati. Sa druge strane, opet, ne patim od klasifikacije (Tako da ni ona moja reakcija nije baš jasna, jel'te (:O ). Neka taj film zove kako ko hoće, ako mu se gleda, neka ga gleda.

Ovde se može začeti rasprava o ukusima, a znate gde to vodi. Nemojte se prepirati zbog toga. Išao sam da gledam "Evitu", uinapred strepeći da ću možda osetiti nagon da napustim bioskop. Naime, mnogi ovde već znaju koliko sam privržen muzici A.L.Webbera, a neki možda i znaju da sam privržen i filmovima Alana Parkera... Ipak, plašio sam se da ne pokvarim magiju koja postoji u mom doživljaju te rok opere. Na kraju, izuzetno sam zadovoljan što sam gledao film. Filmskim jezikom je rečeno barem toliko koliko i muzičkim. Orkestracija upotrebljena u filmu je FENOMENALNA. Jeste, smeta mi što neki bubnjarski pasaži ne zvuče kako bih ja voleo, ali sam svestan da na svetu postoji samo jedan Simon Philips. Režija je zbilja fenomenalna. Negde sam pročitao opasku da je Parker "one of the few" koji imaju muda da danas snimaju masovne scene. Masovne scene u ovom filmu du urađene - priznajte - spektakularno. Sreća, pa dinamika fabule nije dopustila gos'n Parkeru da krene za blagodaviteljnim usporavanjem, koje obično ima običaj da usadi u film pre kulminacije (da l' to grmi il' se zemlja trese...) (: Uloge? Madona je posao uradila perfektno. Neko možda ima konflikt zbog ovakve tvrdnje - ja ga nemam. Madonu kao ličnost ne podnosim baš bogzna kako. Ali, moram priznati ono što je fakat: besprekorno. I ako baš hoćete, spreman sam da izjavim i jeretičku misao: njeno pevanje nije bolje od originala Julie Convington, ali je za klasu bolje od scenske verzije Elaine Page. J. Pryce deluje bledunjavo, ali ako ćemo pravo, i takva pojava prilično dihtuje ulozi Huana Perona. (: Banderas me je dotukao. Briljantno! Nikad nisam gotivio čoveka, ali opet moram svoja predubeđenja da ostavim po strani: nema zamerke. Jedino što smatram lošom pojavom je onaj tip što glumi Magaldija. Faca, pojava i pevanje k'o usran golub (:O i nekako preko volje odradio svoj deo, a on predstavlja ključ pojave i kasnijeg ponašanja Eve Duarte. Tu epizodu smatram nedovoljno dorađenom. No, rekoh... Sve ovo vidim sasvim lično. Ovako mali Perica zamišlja analizu filma, dalje mi se ne da... (:
