To ce se odraziti samo na brzinu grafickog podsistema, koja bi ovim
trebala da bude nesto veca, a i oslobodice se nesto memorije (u zavi-
snosti od otvorenih aplikacija izmedju 256K i 1MB).
Sve ostalo je nepromenjeno.

ruter...

release of Windows NT« Server 4.0, the latest version of the world's
best-selling server operating system. This release brings customers
unmatched ease of use and management, higher network throughput, and a
complete set of tools for developing and managing intranets. Manufacturing
of Microsoft« Windows NT Server 4.0 began today, with general availability
anticipated within the next month.
According to International Data Corp. (IDC) Windows NT Server led in server
operating system shipments in 1995 and again in first-quarter 1996,
outselling other server operating systems including NetWare 3«, NetWare 4
and all versions of UNIX combined. Windows NT Server growth is most evident
in its year-over-year sales increase of 154 percent from first-quarter 1995
to first-quarter 1996.
Integrated Intranet Solution
Windows NT Server 4.0 is the only server operating system to include
built-in Web services that provide a complete, integrated intranet
solution. Windows NT Server 4.0 includes Microsoft Internet Information
Server (IIS) version 2.0, currently in use by more than 200,000 users.
Other intranet features include the Microsoft FrontPageÖ 1.1 Web authoring
and management tool, the latest version of the tool for creating and
managing Web sites, and Microsoft Index Server, a content indexing and
querying search engine (available from the Web).
Analysts believe Windows NT Server 4.0 is positioned to capture a
significant percentage of intranet server sales, which will fuel its strong
growth. According to a recent study conducted by MSI International Inc., an
independent marketing research firm, adoption of intranets will grow by 150
percent by year end.
"The concept of the intranet is dominating the thoughts of IT managers
trying to improve both employee productivity and the competitive
performance of their companies," said
Rob Enderle, senior industry analyst at the Giga Information Group. "With
this release, Microsoft has effectively targeted these intranet needs with
a highly integrated, low-cost platform. As a result, we expect Windows NT
Server 4.0 will be the preferred choice for most IT organizations."
Enhancements in Windows NT Server 4.0
"Windows NT Server 4.0 is a major milestone in our development. It is
substantially faster, much easier to use and incorporates significantly new
intranet functionality," said Jim Allchin, senior vice president, desktop
and business systems division at Microsoft. "With over 200,000 beta users,
this is the most widely tested version of Windows NT. Because of rigorous
testing and substantial customer feedback, Windows NT 4.0 is the most
robust version of Windows NT we have ever shipped."
Windows NT Server 4.0 offers scalability improvements of up to 33 percent,
yielding more linear scalability on machines with eight or more processors.
The additional fine tuning for the Pentium« Pro platforms to ensure high
performance makes Windows NT Server 4.0 optimized for this type of
hardware.
"The combination of Pentium Pro processors and Microsoft Windows NT Server
4.0 delivers superb value and price/performance," said John McNulty,
director of enterprise server programs at Intel Corp. "The scalability and
performance of Windows NT Server 4.0 on Pentium Pro processors will
continue to fuel the strong industrywide adoption of Windows NT Server and
will help further drive the growth rates for Pentium Pro processors and
standard high-volume servers."
Windows NT Server 4.0 provides features to reduce the number of steps
required for a system administrator to install, use and manage a server. It
offers a set of Internet and intranet tools and improved performance as an
applications, file, print and communications server. Enhancements include
the following:
* The Windows« 95 user interface and new management wizards. These
enhancements make Windows NT Server 4.0 one of the easiest server
operating systems to use and manage.
* Performance and scalability improvements. Windows NT Server 4.0 offers
significant scalability improvements over Windows NT Server 3.51,
achieving considerably higher performance on four-processor machines
and offering much more linear scalability on machines with eight or
more processors. File server performance in Windows NT Server 4.0 also
shows dramatic gains, achieving more than twice the throughput of
Windows NT Server 3.51 (tests were performed using NetbenchÖ 4.0).
* Improved Internet and intranet communications. Microsoft Internet
Information Server 2.0, the fastest Web server for Windows NT Server,
offers up to 40 percent greater performance than its predecessor,
version 1.0. Also added are Web browser-based remote server
administration and Index Server, a searching technology that offers
automatic content indexing of HTML pages and other documents stored on
corporate intranet servers, such as those created in Microsoft Office.
Windows NT Server 4.0 also includes Microsoft FrontPage 1.1, allowing
nonprogrammers as well as experienced developers to create and manage
professional-quality Web sites. The Distributed Component Object Model
is one other key addition to Windows NT Server 4.0. The Component
Object Model (COM) allows software developers to create
component-based applications. Distributed COM in Windows NT Server
4.0extends COM to allow components to securely communicate across the
Internet. Distributed COM is a growing Internet standard, and it has
been published in conformance with the format specified in RFC 1543. A
completely new version of DNS includes a graphical administration
utility and integration with WINS services for dynamic updates of host
names and addresses. To enable the creation of virtual private
networks across the Internet, Windows NT Server 4.0 offers
point-to-point tunneling protocol (PPTP), a technology that extends
the capacity of RAS to enable secure, low-cost private networks
without the need to change the client software.

Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0 is scheduled to be available within the
next month for approximately $1,129 for the new 10-user version. Customers
with previous versions of Windows NT Server can upgrade to version 4.0 for

Svojevremeno je u jednoj od usenet konferencija vodjena prilicno posecena
diskusija koliko je ovo korisna stvar. Naime, problem je naravno propusna
moc mreze, koja je najcesce (jos uvek) na 10 Mbps, te rad svega par ova-
kvih diskless klijenata moze biti prava nocna mora.
Onda su dosli do zakljucka da bi prava stvar bila 100 MBps mreza, ali ona
ima ruznu osobinu da nije bas jeftina, pa bi se vise isplatilo da se za
svaku stanicu kupi po jedan 'mali' disk sa koga bi se dizala 95-ica.
A na kraju su se svi slozili da bi najbolje bilo i lokalni disk, i 100 Mbps
mreza... ;))
Meni se cini da je ovo uradjeno samo zarad nastavljanja tradicije podrske
klijenata preko RPL-a: kao sto su se Windows for Workgroups 3.11 nalazili
na Windows NT Server 3.51 CDu, tako se sada na NT4.0 Server CD-u nalazi
Windows95, kao i RPL za njega...
Tako ce i Cairo (NT 5.0) imati RPL za Windows97, ako se doticni bude zvao
tako s obzirom na Microsoftovu praksu ;) A mozda ce do tada i Fast Ether-
net biti 'entry level' mreza ...

Microsoft Corp. temporarily halted production
of Windows NT 4.0 Friday night after
discovering a security bug.
Fewer than 50 CDs had been "burned" at the
time, and none of the products were in the
market, said Divisional Marketing Manager
Jonathan Roberts.
The server-based bug, which would have allowed
unauthorized users to access and delete files,
was uncovered after a beta tester called to
make sure that Microsoft, of Redmond, Wash.,
had addressed the problem.
Production resumed the next day.
"Essentially, the only real impact is that NT
might be available in the channel a day later
than otherwise," said Roberts.

Ovo možeš da uradiš iz gotovo bilo kog programa, pod uslovom da imaš
PostScript štampač (koji, naravno, većina nas nema - pardon, sebe ne
računam ;).
E sad, pade mi na pamet nešto što bi moglo da bude univerzalno rešenje
problema zvanog "kontraštiht na ne-PostScript štampačima". Potrebno je još
nešto dodatnog softvera, konkretno Adobe Acrobat Distiler i Reader.
Dakle, u Windowsu instalirati drajver za neki PostScript printer (npr.
Apple LaserWriter). Kod štampanja iz željenog programa uključiti opciju
"mirror" (ili kako se već zove) i "print to file". Dobijeni (postscript)
fajl učitati u Distiler, koji će ga konvertovati u .PDF. Taj PDF zatim
učitate u Reader, iz koga ga možete odštampati na bilo kom štampaču :)
Ovo još nisam probao, ali mislim da bi moralo da radi :) Jedini
"problem" je što Acrobat Distiler nije besplatan program (Acrobat Reader
jeste), ali siguran sam da ćete se već nekako snaći ;)

poduze ime Komunikacije Internet (ne znam dal je bitno) ne mogu da smestim
sve ikone koje su tu nekad bile (prijavi da nema dovoljno memorije pa da iza-

ge grupe sve je Ok, pa jel neko zna MISTERIJU ?

"Misterija" je u tome da stari Windows rezerviše fiksnu količinu memorije
- 64 KB za sve resurse (ikone, prozore i sl.), i kad se ti resursi potroše
dobijaš pomenutu poruku bez obzira na količinu raspoložive (fizičke) memorije.
Win 95 (kao i NT) nema tih problema, pa možeš da ga mrziš koliko hoćeš ;)
Rešenje tvog problema je relativno jednostavno - poubijaj sve suvišne
ikone (npr. za razne ReadMe i Help fajlove) i probaj da smanjiš broj
programskih grupa.

Apple Reveals QuickTime for Windows Road Map Development Effort
Co-development Activities with Macromedia, Media 100, and Truevision
Bring Full Feature Set of QuickTime to the Windows Platform
SAN FRANCISCO--Sept. 3, 1996--Apple Computer Inc., along with Macromedia
Inc., the Media 100 group of Data Translation, and Truevision, today
announced plans to collaborate on implementing the complete QuickTime
Application Programming Interface (API) feature set for Microsoft Windows
95 and Windows NT.
For the first time, developers will be able to use QuickTime to not only
playback digital media, but also to create and edit content on the
Windows platform. QuickTime, a pervasive industry standard for broadcast,
Internet and CD-ROM content authoring, playback and delivery, is a
multiplatform architecture for storing, editing and playing synchronized
video, sound, music, graphics, and text.
By bringing the full feature set of QuickTime to the Windows platform,
developers will be able to create their content once on either a
Macintosh or Windows-based system, and deliver that same content across
multiple platforms without having to run separate development efforts.
Developers will save time and money while delivering their content in a
consistent manner to a larger audience. Apple has supported QuickTime for
playback of digital media on the Windows platform since 1992.
When it ships from Apple, the enhanced version of QuickTime for Windows
is expected to be the first multiplatform, high-performance, open
architecture for manipulating, distributing and handling high-quality
digital video on personal computers running Windows and Windows NT. Apple
is jointly developing this new version of QuickTime for Windows with a
group of industry-leading digital video developers. Macromedia,
Truevision, and Media 100 will provide their multiplatform development
experience and testing to ensure the highest possible performance from
the software. All three companies plan to use QuickTime as the core
technology in their forthcoming products for both the Mac OS and the
Windows platform. "With today's announcement, QuickTime takes a
significant leap forward," said Marco Landi, Apple's chief operating
officer. "QuickTime for Windows will revolutionize digitial video
creation and playback by enabling developers to create once and deliver
across multiple platforms. This QuickTime development project marks the
first step in Apple's plans to move all of its core interactive
multimedia technologies--something we call the QuickTime Media Layer--to
key industry operating systems such as Windows, OS/2, and UNIX," added
Landi.
"Having truly multiplatform technology for both creation and playback is
a major win for PC developers everywhere," said Ellen Hancock, Apple's
chief technology officer and executive vice president of Research &
Development. "For the first time, developers can build next generation
software on our open QuickTime middleware and feel confident that they
can save time and money while getting their products into customer hands
more quickly and efficiently."
Today QuickTime for the Mac OS supports multiple data types, including
video, sound, graphics, animation, text, music/MIDI, MPEG, and sprite 3D,
with the ability to synchronize all the media types to a common time
base. With this release, Apple plans to make all these features Win32
compatible. Content publishers of high-quality, high-data rate and full
screen video will be able to use QuickTime to produce broadcast-quality
productions on either Macintosh or Windows-based personal computers.
Joint Collaboration with Developers
To ensure compatibility and a timely release, Apple, Macromedia Inc.,
Media 100, and Truevision have agreed to a joint development schedule,
shared specifications and engineering efforts. Apple plans to began a
widespread beta software seeding program in the late fall. At that time,
interested developers can participate in the final testing and
compatibility phase.
"QuickTime is the first technology on the Windows platform to allow
off-the-shelf software, like ours, to meet the needs of the professional
video production market," said Tim Myers, director of Video Product
Marketing for Macromedia. "With QuickTime, we can get instant playback of
cuts and transitions, instant print-to-tape, high data rates--resulting
in high quality images, synchronized audio, and more. We also get true
hardware independence, allowing us to focus on features instead of
drivers. Besides, our engineering team has a five-year history with the
technology and engineers at Apple."
"We are singularly committed to QuickTime as the dynamic media technology
for Media 100, and are investing in the engineering effort to speed the
complete implementation of QuickTime on the Windows NT platform," said
John Molinari, vice president and general manager of Data Translation's
Multimedia Group. "QuickTime is the only viable technology for real-world
professional digital video because it works today, and has the robust
feature set required for digital video applications. QuickTime is how we
plan to deliver seamless, multiplatform digital video authoring to Media

TrueType font, Windows se ukoči, a na Ctrl-Alt-Del dobijem

Posle toga, više kao da ne postoje TrueType fontovi.
A ponekad, ako baš nije dobro raspoložen, Windows se isključi
sa porukom:

DOS iz windowsa 3.11 nece da radi u fullscreen mode-u.Odnosno,
radi, ali se unosu komande EXIT zablokira i masina mora da se
resetuje. Kad radim u windowed rezimu sve je u redu, ako pokusam
da uradim ALT-ENTER predje u fullscreen i posle sve isto (blokada
pri izlasku). Pomagajte ljudi ako boga znate! Unapred hvala, Dejan.

Verovatno si uključio neki neispravan TTF (čest slučaj sa domaćim
fontovima tj. prepravljenim na YUSCII). Uđi u Control Panel, isključi
sve TTF, pa ih uključuj u malim dozama uz probe iz drugih aplikacija.
BTW, bolje ih je ostaviti u nekom posebnom diru nego dozvoliti da
se svi po defaultu iskopiraju u windows\system.

Pokušaj da prebaciš sve fontove u neki drugi dir., uklonih iz liste
(Control Panel/Fonts/Remove) i ponovo ih instaliraj, ali nemoj da
čekiraš box - Copy fonts to Windows directory.
Uvek postoji i debilno - imaš opciju u Control Panel/Fonst/True Type
gde ti je možda isključeno korišćenje TTF fontova (imaš malog batu ?!)
Na kraju, instalacija Win3.11 nije baš toliko bolna, nije to Win95
koji se ponaša kao da je novorođenče, a već hoće da ti komanduje šta
da radiš :)

Proveri da li imaš instalirane odgovarajuće drajvere za _svoju_ video
kartu, pokušaj da promeniš rezoluciju,... Na kraju probaj da staviš
običan VGA drajver koji dolazi uz Win.

sa HIMEM-om, ali opet isto.
Takođe sam pokušao i da zamenim GDI.EXE, što je radilo neko vreme, a
onda opet ista stvar. ;(

B2. Microsoft Debuts An All-New Line of Automap Products
Microsoft announced three new mapping products, furthering
the company's commitment to the rapidly growing mapping
software market. The Microsoft Automap Streets Plus and
Microsoft Automap Streets Plus, Deluxe Edition travel series
are available immediately; Microsoft Automap Trip Planner is
scheduled to be in stores in October. These 1997 editions of
the Automap line include new maps, new content and new
functionality.
The new products include online links to current tourist and
travel information for users with Internet access via Automap
Online, the ability to add user information and listings
from the American Yellow Pages via Pushpins to the maps,
"Kid Picks" and Classic Drives for fun travel planning, more

U jednoj od konferencija je neko skidao drajvere za muzicku karticu sa opti
cipom sa interneta (mislim da je ftp.opti.com) moze li neko da pogleda ima li
drajvera za graficku?

Imam problem:
Windows 3.11 mi ponekad ne vidi drugu particiju master diska. To mi se
dešavalo i kada je drugi disk bio prikačen kao Secondary Master, ali tada nije
video njega.
Konfiguracija je sledeća:
UMC PCI matična ploča sa integrisanim kontrolerom, master Conner 1.2GB, LBA
mod, pio 4, slave Samsung 420MB, CHS mode, pio 2.
Instaliran drajver za kontroler pod DOS-om, a pod Win 3.11 pravi probleme -
kada je uključen, omogućen je 32 bit disk access, ali se po izlasku iz Win
pojavi "Cannot load Command.Com, system halted", a drugi disk se uopšte ne
vidi. Kada ne koristim Win drajver, disk (particija) se najčešće vidi, a nekad
(ređe) ne, ali naravno nemam 32 bit disk access.
Ima li neko rešenje?

Da se nadovežem na sve ovo...
Da li Win3.11 ima neko ograničenje što se tiče broja instaliranih
fontova ? Primer : na jednoj DTP mašini instalirani su i Win95 i
Win3.11 i obojica dele fontove iz istih dir. međutim Win95 uredno sve
guta, dok 3.11 posle instalacije povećeg broja fontova može da ih
prikaže samo u control panel-u, dok sve ostale aplikacije prijavljuju
grešku tipa: No TTF fonts installed !
Da li stvarno postoji ograničenje ili neko drugo rešenje za ovaj
problem ?

MICROSOFT INTRODUCES HTMLHELP TECHNOLOGY AT HTML HELP
JUMPSTART CONFERENCE
At the HTML Help Jumpstart Conference, Microsoft announced
technology that brings the richness of Microsoft Windows
operating system-based Help to the Internet. Microsoft
demonstrated context-sensitive help and showed table of
contents and rich indexing, delivered as HTML and displayed
using Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0. Independent software
vendors Blue Sky Software Corp., ForeFront Inc., HyperAct
Inc., WexTech Systems Inc. and others demonstrated new
versions of their products that already support HtmlHelp.
Because HtmlHelp is viewed from the browser, online
documentation can take advantage of the full multimedia
capabilities of Microsoft Internet Explorer. For example,
an HtmlHelp file could display a video clip showing how
to use a product feature, delivered through an ActiveX
technologies-based streaming video control.

WEB-BASED CITY GUIDES TO LOCAL ENTERTAINMENT
Microsoft announced it will offer online city entertainment
guides in 1997 designed to help residents get the most out
of their cities. The project, code-named "Cityscape," will
combine Internet technology and entertainment content
published by editorial teams based in each city.
Cityscape will be supported by advertising and available
as a free service on the World Wide Web and as a featured
offering on MSN, The Microsoft Network online service.
The debut guide, for Seattle, is scheduled to be online in
the first quarter of 1997. By mid-year, it will be joined
online by entertainment guides for New York, Boston and
San Francisco, with 10 to 15 cities worldwide expected to
be on-line by the end of the year.

CREATING AN INSTANT SCREEN SAVER
Do you work with confidential data? If you do, there are
probably instances when you need to quickly remove that
information from your screen. For example, suppose someone
without authorized access to your data knocks on your office
door and wants to see you. In these situations, you can
easily minimize the window to remove the data from view.
However, there's another technique for hiding your screen's
contents.
You can create a shortcut on your desktop to a screen saver
and then assign a shortcut key--or hot key--to the shortcut.
Then, when you need to hide your confidential data, you
can do so quickly and easily by pressing the hot key. Let's
take a look at how you set up this technique.

WINU
WinU is a tamper-proof replacement user interface for
Windows 95 with access control, time-limit and security
features. It's easy to set up, easy to use and virtually

Ja sam ipak koristio FontMonster v3.3 (ima ga uz neku poruku u
konferenciji, možeš lako da ga nađeš) jer mi deluje malo brže od ovog
novijeg. Njime možeš da napraviš proizvoljne grupe fontova pa ih onda
po potrebi instaliraš, bilo privremeno, bilo stalno. To se sve obavlja
on fly, pa sam ja imao samo osnovne Win fontove permanentno instalirane
a tek kad je trebalo nešto kucati, onda sam instalirao određenu grupu.

Ulažem izvestan trud da što pre prenesem ove materijale u
konferenciju, a plaćam telefon iz Kikinde radeći to. Smatram da
korisnost materijala prevazilazi vreme provedeno da bi se poruka
skinula (koliko ti vremena oduzima, leba ti?) i zato ću mailove
koje primam posredstvom mailing lista i dalje slati kao poruke na
odgovarajućim mestima.
Uzgred, budući da prođe najviše nekoliko sati od stizanja mailing
poruka do njihovog preusmeravanja u konferencije, apelujem da se
ne pretplaćujete na ove liste i sami, kako ne bismo zagušivali tesne
resurse UUCP veze. Dok se stanje ne popravi, na čemu se, koliko mi je
poznato, aktivno radi, treba da se malo strpimo (:

sve bi moglo da ide kao poruka a nama koji nismo zainteresovani
više ne bi bilo na smetnji.

Čemu nervoza ? Lepo sam te zamolio, ako nećeš tvoja stvar (nemoj da
pomisliš da posle ovoga sledi ignore :) Čak nije stvar ni u vremenu,
ni u clasterima na disku... nego jednostavno u pristojnosti ! Dosta
ljudi čak nije toliko familijarna sa engleskim jezikom (opet nisam
taj).
Probaj recimo radi eksperimenta da jednom okačiš fajl uz poruku (u
kojoj naravno ide intro teksta) i to pošalješ na Sezam sa switchem
/r čisto da vidiš koliko je ljudi stvarno zainteresovano za takve
tekstove...
Tebi svaka čast na drugim stvarima, ali dosta korisnika prosto gori
od želje da sve što negde pronađe pošto poto pošalje na sistem u vidu
kilometarskih poruka.

Pomagajte, ljudi! Ochiju buljavih izbechio sam se sat vremena
pokušavajući da namestim Wave drajver za PC spikera na WfWG...
A lepo mi je radio... Od kako sam instalirao Britannica CD sa
Win32s, ućutao se. Britaniku i Win32s sam temeljito pobio (sledeći korak
po korak uputstva za Win32s) ali ne pomaže.
Drajver je uredno prijavljen u system.ini, speaker.drv je u system
direktorijumu, ali kada ga podešavam iz Control Panela ne upisuje promene
u svoju sekciju u system.ini. Kad kliknem na Test on pišti pa resetuje
vrednosti na 42 ili 153... Sound Recorder i ostali programi samo
kažu da drajver nije instaliran, a mogu da ga nameštam iz Drivers
sekcije CP-a.
Treba li da držim MCI i MIDI drajvere? Nekad je radio i pored njih, sad
neće. Pomagajte, šaljite system.ini sa kojim spiker radi, šaljite
speaker.drv sa kojim nemate problema. Zna li neko kolje li se speaker.drv
sa nečim? Moram ovo da namestim, bez zvučnog signala zaboravljam da
prekinem vezu kada završim transfer modemom...
Šaljem svoj system.ini, možda je neko spreman da pogleda i kaže vidi
li nešto sumnjivo.

Imam pitanje u vezi nekorektnosti win4wg 3.11 rada.
Problem se javlja kada se startuje Excell ili Access javlja se
poruka tipa general protection.. itd i pominje programe USER.EXE, KRNL386.EXE
PROGMAN.EXE. Možda sam pogrešio u tipu ekstenzije.
Problem se ne javlja ako se prethodno startuje Word. Konkretno radi se o
MsOffice 4.3
Ima li leka ovom problemu?

tastatura i fixfont), tekst se pomoću Clipboarda prenosi u DOS
prozor (Alt-Space, Edit, Paste). Win prebaci tačno ceo tekst samo
pobrljavi naša slova (dakle više nije CP852 nego ko zna koji).
Isto ovo se dešava kada se iz DOS prozora pokušava prebacti tekst u
Windows. DOS takođe ima budženi CP852 (zkey i vgayu).

Zbog tih budženja se i javlja problem. Windows za istočnu evropu
(CEE za 3.11, PEE za 95), pored mnoštva drugih stvari, na
sistemskom nivou obezbeđuje i konverziju uzmeđu 852 i 1250 kada
se podaci prenose preko clipboard-a.

Ukratko: jeste budženje, ali je regularno i od Microsofta je.
Neki programi ga zahtevaju. Nema nekog posebnog razloga da ga
instaliraš ako ti ne treba. Ako ti treba, moraćeš...
Potrebne datoteke postoje i na Sezamu, direktorijum
windows\system, ispraviće me file-moderatori ako grešim. :)

Nije baš budženje, ovo pomaže da neki 32 bitni programi mogu da se
pokrenu pod 3.11, slobodno uzmi. Ipak, bolje je da uzmeš najnovije, to
ide na tri diskete a nalazi se negde ovde. :)

Obično u dokumentaciji koja ide uz program piše da li radi i na Win 3.1x, i da
li mu treba Win32s i koja verzija istog. Znači, moraćeš da pročitaš razne
file_id.diz-ove, readme-je i uputstva za svaki konkretan program koji te
interesuje.

U 99% slučajeva: NE. Postoje programi za Windows 3.1x koji rade samo uz
Win32s (npr. Elastic Reality, Lightwave, Photoshop 3.0.4), ali program pisan
isključivo za Windows 95 (ili NT) nikakvim čudom ne možeš naterati da radi i
pod Windows 3.1x.

Izgleda se ne razumemo, u tome i jeste problem što imaš US
verziju, budženu da liči na onu koja poznaje kodne strane
namenjene nama. Sve što imaš jeste tastatura i fontovi, nedostaje
ti svaka druga podrška za YU.

Ako sam ja dobro razumeo tvoj problem, tebi ne treba da se
isključi već uključi. :) Ta konverzija sasvim lepo radi kad je
ima, ali nema je na US verziji Windows-a. Jedno od rešenja je i
programče Serbian Language Driver Obrada Bijelića koje obezbeđuje
neke od tih specifičnih funkcija i na "budženim" Windows-ima
(sotritanje, konverziju iz cp-1250 u cp-852 na nivou API-ja).
Problem je što je MS promenio kodnu stranu, na DOS-u je to bila
852, ovde je to 1250. Zašto - ne znam. Obezbedili su na
sistemskom nivou da to (uglavnom) bude transparentno (npr. to
automatsko konvertovanje prilikom copy/paste između Win i DOS
aplikacija, razlikovanje učitavanja OEM i ANSI TXT fajla i sl.)
Znači, ili uzmi Win CEE, ili probaj da sa SLD-om "dobudžiš"
Windows-e da ti rade konverziju.

Problem...
Vozim Windows 3.11 i video karticu CL-GD5428. Koristim poslednju verziju
drajvera koja postoji na Sezamu, 1.43, ali se baš i nisam usrećio.
Javljaju se zbrljani ekrani pri svičevanju iz Windows GUI-ja u DOS
prozor, kada je DOS u grafičkom modu.
Pitanje: ako nema boljih drajvera za moju kršinu (kao što verovatno nema)
da li da pokušavam sa nekim univerzalnim drajverima iz Sezamovih direktorijuma?
Potrebno mi je 800x600 u DOS prozoru, a u Win samo 640x480 (kakva ironija!)
poželjno u 64k boja. Kakva su vaša iskustva?

Svojevremeno, dok sam bio na staroj mašini, 386 DX 40 sa
Trident 8900C, bolje su me služili Windows generički Super VGA
drajveri nego Tridentovi. Bili su brži. Probaj ako nisi...

Koliko se sećam, ja sam probao pa se vratio na prethodne drajvere,
čini mi se one koji su išli uz karticu.

Prvo konvertuješ sliku u RLE format, s tim da slika ne
sme da budu veća od 55K (u stvari slika+WIN.COM < 64K).
Za svaki slučaj snimić WIN.COM kao WIN.BAK sa
COPY WIN.COM WIN.BAK
(podrazumeva se da si u WINDOWS direktorijumu)
i na kraju otkucaš:
COPY /B SYSTEMĐWIN.CNF + SYSTEMĐVGALOGO.LGO + slika.rle WIN.COM
Posle ovoga bi Windows trebao da prikazuje tu sliku svaki put
kada se startuje.
Ako ovo ipak ne bude radilo, možeš da vratiš stari WIN.COM sa
COPY WIN.BAK WIN.COM

Koju si verziju koristio? Mene su ojadile i 1.41 i 1.43.

Jel' zna neko zašto mi se u Win3.11 kada startujem odredjene
programe javlja izvesni " aplication error" posle koga mogu
da izaberem "ignore" ili "close" i pri tom na ignore ne reaguje,
tj. moram da closiram program i izgubim "any unsaved information"?
U početku ovaj fenomen se javljao samo kada hoću da udjem
u odredjeni deo nekog programa, kao na pr. kada ulazim u phone book
u BitWare-u.To bi se javilo kada 1. put ulazim, dok bi 2. put sve
normalno šljakalo.Medjutim,od kako sam uzeo tm za win, aplication
error se u navedenom programu javljao _svaki_ put kada u njega 1.
put ulazim ( od startovanja win-a), što je već počelo da me iritira!
Vrhunac svega je bio kada _uopšte_ nije hteo da udje u Trumpet Winsock,
naravno, javljajući aplication error.
Razmišljam o reinstalaciji wina3.11,što bi bili kobno, jer
bih morao sve ikone ponovo da stavljam, uz mogućnost ponovnog
javljanja iste greške.
Da li je problem u verziji Win-a ili do odredjenih programa
( više verujem u ono 1.) i kako bih to eventualno rešio ? Da napomenem
da se greška javlja većinom u komunikacionim programima...

Šta ti znači WFW? Windows for Workgroups? Nikakvog font editora tamo nema.
