Đani Morbideli, vozač Zaubera, završio je u bolnici sa slomljenom levom
rukom, nakon što se pri velikoj brzini slupao prilikom testiranja u
Manjikuru u Francuskoj. Podneo je i lakšu operaciju ruke tako da će za
koji dan napustiti bolnicu.
Vozač koji će zamenjivati Morbidalija je Norberto Fontana, 22-godišnji
Argentinac koji je test-vozač u ekipi Zauber od 1995. godine, a ovo će
mu inače biti prva trka u šampionatu Formule 1.

Minardijev vozač Jarno Truli pridružiće se ove sedmice Emanuelu Kolardu
u testiranju za Prost Grand Prix tim u Manjukuru u Francuskoj.
Olivije Panis, koji je teško povređen (višestruki prelomi obe noge) u
toku poslednje trke u Kanadi, teško da će moći da se vrati Formuli 1
pre početka naredne sezone, tako da je tim prinuđen da traži zamenu za
preostalih deset trka.
Portparol Prostovog tima je najavio da Kolard vrši testove zajedno sa
Jarnom Trulijem, tako da će se tim odlučiti za jednog od njih dvojice
u dogledno vreme. Iako je Kolard bio test vozač u Vilijamsu, Benetonu
i Tirelu, ipak se očekuje angažman Jarnoa Trulija koji ima iskustva u
pravim trkama
Takođe, Prostov tim je dobio novu generaciju Mugen-Honda motora, koji
se trenutno testiraju a debitovaće već na prvo sledećoj trci, na žalost
bez Olivijea Panisa koji je pre povrede najavio mnogo uzbuđenja na
domaćoj stazi, ali za koga je ova sezona prerano završena.

Nije moguće da je prošlo već tri dana a da niko nije spomenuo ishod
istorijske trke CART serije? :)
Za one koji ne znaju, ovogodišnji Budweiser/G.I. Joe's 200 koji se vozio
u Portlandu završen je pobjedom Marka Blundella, koji je bukvalno na
izlasku iz posljednje krivine prestigao do tada vodećeg Gila de Ferrana,
i na cilju ga nadmašio za čitavih :) 0.027 sekundi (najmanja razlika u
istoriji ovog takmičenja). Da urnebes bude veći, Raul Boesel,
trećeplasirani, na kraju je bio samo 0.055 sekundi sporiji od pobjednika
(takođe najmanja razlika između prvog i trećeg u istoriji), dok je
Christian Fittipaldi, koji je kao četvrti stigao na cilj, zaostao svega
1.069 sekundi.
Inače, bila je to prva pobjeda Blundella u karijeri, a postigao ju je
u kišnim uslovima prvenstveno zahvaljujući sjajnoj taktici promjene
pneumatika. U šampionatu i dalje vodi Tracy sa 100, ispred Moorea sa 95
bodova.

Firestone -- dominantan u prvom delu trke, kada je padala kisa.
Goodyear -- odlican u drugom delu trke, kada se staza osusila.
Alex Zanardi je zbog loseg starta bio potisnut na jedanaesto mesto,
ali se vrlo brzo (u dosta teskim uslovima) vratio na prvu poziciju.
Jednostavno, u uslovima teske kise, bio je nezaustavljiv. Medjutim,
opet nije imao srece. Pri kraju trke, kada je staza vec pocela da
se susi, ostao je na istrosenim kisnim gumama i svi su ga prestigli.
Chip & Co su pogresili pri izboru taktike. :( Steta.
Mark Blundell je tokom cele trke vozio odlicno. Za vreme kise,
uspeo je da nadoknadi nekih 6,7 pozicija i pokazao da pri voznji
treba misliti glavom :), a ne praviti glupe greske tokom trke kao
neki vozaci (citaj: Pol Trejsi). U neverovatnom (foto) finisu
uspeo je da pobedi isped De Ferrana za samo 27 hiljaditih delova
sekunde !
Dario Franchitti, covek koji je izbacio Zanardija iz trke pre dve
nedelje, je opet pravio probleme. U nedelju je njegova meta bio Al
Unser Jr. :)
Christian Fittipaldi je zavrsio trku na cetvrtom mestu, sto je posle
one teske nesrece u Australiji fenomenalan rezultat.
Da je kisa nastavila da pada (pri kraju trke), verujem da bi Zanardi
pobedio. Medjutim, to se nije desilo. Chip & Co su pogresili u izboru
taktike. Zanardi je trku zavrsio na jedanaestom mestu, dok Vasser
nije uzeo ni jedan jedini poen! Pocinjem da mislim da je za njih
titula vec osigurana. U odnosu na njih dvojicu, Trejsi ima ogromnu
prednost, tu su i Andretti i Moore (mada je malo verovatno da ce on
uzeti sampionat ;).

Jedino ako je Minardiju matična staza u Francuskoj ;) Truli je
bukvalno pre 4-5 dana došao kod Prosta i prvi put seo u bolid
Prost-Mugen... Trebalo je da se vozač izabere između Kolarda i
Buljona, ali im je Truli pomrsio račune kad je Prost video
vremena koja dečko postiže.

E bre, Obrene, nishta me ne slushash.. Ako oni znaju da podese bolid za tu
stazu, sa bilo kojim vozachem ce biti brzi nego inache.

Sve vreme se očekivala kiša, tako da su kod drugog pit-stopa neki
timovi stavili kišne gume iako je promicala tek po koja kap kiše.
Kiša je zaista počela da pada u poslednjoj trećini trke, ali dosta
timova je ostalo da vozi sa slikovima (među njima i vodeći Šumaher
i Frencen, koji su jedini završili trku sa slik pneumaticima) sve
do same završnice kada je počeo jači pljusak.

Neverovatno. Maxovi mehanicari nisu zavrsili svoj posao na vreme i
Max je morao da startuje iz boksa! Da stvar bude jos gora, izgleda
da je startovao pre vremena i morao da se vrati u boks da odradi
kaznu od 10 sekundi. Medjutim, kako nije poslusao (mozda nije ni
video) organizatora trke koji mu je pokazivao tablu (da se vrati
u boks), dobio je crnu zastavu.
... a taman je uspeo da se dogura do 7. mesta u prva tri kruga.
Harada je bio prebrz za Ralfa i kako sam kaze cekao je poslednji
krug da ga prestigne.
Loris je imao nekih problema sa motorom tako da je, uz puno srece,
uspeo da zavrsi trku (i to na 3. poziciji).

Najveca laz koju sam ikad cuo. Neverovatno je kako neko moze na ovakav
nacin da pravda svoju katastrofalnu voznju. Covek je 3 puta izleteo sa
staze! Pa koja budala ne bi namestila setup za kisu kad se videlo da kisa
nece prestati, i jos da je bila neka laka kisa pa da mu poverujes...
P.S. Mozda su i namestili setup za suvo. Ipak su oni na Monaku krenuli
na slikovima :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Q. Congratulations, Michael, on your third victory of the
season and on consolidating your lead in the
championship to 14 points.
MS: It is an enjoyable victory -- and a very surprising
one. Obviously my predictions about the weekend were
totally wrong. But I am happy to take it as it is: to
get pole position and then the victory is the best you
can do. The way we did it was perfect, too, because we
made no mistakes in either the setup or the strategy.
Q. Did you stick with your pitstop strategy all the way
through?
MS: We were on a two-stopper and we stuck to that. In my
situation I had to watch Heinz-Harald, to see whether
he would be going for a tyre change or not, and that
meant I had to stay out as long as possible. That was
fairly difficult -- and I had a moment when I got into
the gravel at the first corner. I thought, 'oops, am I
ever going to get out of this?' But it worked, and I
was able to control the race after that.
Q. Heinz-Harald, you must be pleased today to have beaten
your team mate ...
HHF: Yes, I am happy with the result today. I really wanted
to finish well because so far this year I have only two
results in the points. I was astonished with Michael's
speed at the beginning. I thought he must have been
going for a three-stop strategy because although we
knew from testing that the tyres wouldn't be a problem,
you have to be careful in the early laps -- and he was
pushing like hell. That made me think he was on a
three-stop strategy -- and I let him go.
MS: Thank you!
HHF: Even though I was still pushing very hard, I thought he
would be making three stops.
Q. Were you tempted to come in and change to wet or
intermediate tyres?
HHF: There was a very critical point when the sky looked
clear over the track but it still wanted to rain. I
didn't know where the rain was coming from and it
obviously wasn't going to stop, so I started wondering
what Michael -- or the guy behind me -- would do at the
stage. There was no change at all: Michael seemed to be
taking the same strategy, based on the rain stopping
soon, because he stayed on his slick tyres. I decided
to stay with them as well -- and obviously the
situation was alright for us when it did stop raining
after a while. But I think we should have gone for the
intermediate tyres a couple of laps earlier, because at
the least that would have helped us to finish closer to
Michael.
Q. Williams has not been strong recently while Ferrari
has. What is your feeling about the team at mid-season?
HHF: It is a disappointment at the moment because everybody
was expecting Williams to have an easy-going year,
especially because Ferrari had so much to complain
about at the beginning of the season. Everybody was
expecting it to be quite easy for us. Even Michael has
been saying that he was not sure that he would be
getting into the points, it enccouraged us to think
that it would be easy for us. But now it has turned
around and it looks as though Ferrari is much more
competitive than it was a the beginning of the season.
At the moment Michael is the one to catch.
Q. What can Williams do about it?
HHF: We had a new specification of engine here, but it
wasn't a big improvement. It was a step in the right
direction. I hope that Renault is going to push a
little bit more in that case.
Q. Eddie, you must be delighted to be back for a fourth
podium appearance this year. And how about that
excellent start?
EI: I have had two bad races and it's a great feeling to be
back here. My start didn't feel too good: maybe other
people made really bad starts. I got far too much
wheelspin, but when Villeneuve braked far too early for
the first corner I just sailed round the outside of
him. After that I was able to pull away from him.
Q. On the last lap Jacques almost took you off at the last
corner. Did you know he was there?
EI: I knew he was coming up fast, but my intermediate rear
tyres had blistered really badly on the last lap and I
was just trying to hang on. In the second last hairpin
I just couldn't turn in because I knew the rear
wouldn't [grip], so I had to go straight on to the
grass, into the gravel and back out again. Every time I
tried to turn the steering wheel the rear wanted to go
straight on. It was pretty close -- but it made for an
exciting finish.
Q. Michael, what are your feelings about the British Grand
Prix in two weeks' time?
MS: If we have the same kind of change between testing and
the race [that we have had here], then obviously we are
looking good! The Silverstone test was awful -- so
let's see what this week brings when we go back there.
It will be our last chance to set up the car. [Whatever
happens in the race] I guess I now have enough points
in the world championship to be still leading after the
British GP. That is a good prospect for the rest of the
season.

F3000: Nurburgring race stopped after hard crash
The wet-race was red-flagged after four laps only, because of an
accident in third lap with three cars involved. Gareth Rees' Lola
suddenly became slow at the end of start/finish straight and Irishman
Dino Morelli drove into the rear, then into the side of the Draco-Lola
of Frenchman Cyrille Sauvage. Sauvage's car was torn into two parts.
Morelli's Lola then shot into a tyre wall at Castrol-S and was
catapulted over the barriers. Sauvage got out unhurt, Rees suffered
painful contusions. Morelli was brought to hospital by Helicopter,
where doctors diagnosted complicated fractures of his feet and several
cuts in his face. His condition is stable.
The race was not restarted, half points were given.

Odavno sam ja reko da je bezveze pratiti te trke kad je poznat pobednik.
A jos kad je Max presao u HoNdU totalno sam odustao od motora. (125cc
je veoma nezanimljiva klasa)

A mogli bi se i podsetiti one slavne trke pre dve godine u Suzuki, kad je
Hill po neverovatno lošim uslovima (jaki pljusak) razbio sve ostale, čak je
obišao za krug i trećeplasiranog.
Posle te trke je razlika između Schumacher-a i Hill-a bila samo jedan bod,
i ostalo je istorija :(.
