mac.755crnjini,
Nabavio sam MAC emulator EXECUTOR, i kad sam ga startovao, izgledalo
FINDER, nego neki ^&%$@(# dialog box. Mada ko je radio na Meku pa
presao na PC, Pentium, (Hextium?) i emulator mu je dobar ... ;)
mail.
Sve ovo cinim zato sto posedujem veliku Mek zaostavstinu programa,
hardware limita... mada sumnjam.
Pozdrav i 10x unapred.

Postoji Mac emulator za PC-a? Prvi put čujem, može li malo detaljnije:
softverski, hardverski, kombinovani, šta emulira i slično?

mac.761crnjini,
spor... reda velicine Macintosh-a IIx.
Medjutim emulator nije bas najsrecnije resen. Razlog: nepostojanje
kroz drajvove i direktorijume i startovanje aplikacija. Sve ostale
u upotrebi, sto svakako nije.
pakovanja DiskDoublerom) i eventualno instaliram Mekov OS, Executor

Desktop dugme i na željeni disk u dijalogu. Onda se klikne u spisak izvan svih
diskova, tj. u prazno. Tada button Open menja svoj tekst u Save, a u gornjem

to u vrlo mali broj modela. Znači, jedino ti preostaje kupovina nekog polovnog

SoftWindows Rev 2.0 Supports 386 enhanced mode.
I tried this. It ALMOST works. You'll blow up when Linux actually tries to
read/write to the "disk". It seems Linux tries to talk to the drive's
controller (which ain't there). There's a version of linux which uses the
BIOS to do disk read/writes--that doesn't work either. I think it's trying to
get the BIOS to use a callback mechanism, and the bios in a SoftWindows session
is a pseudo-bios.
If you could get a "ramdisk" version of linux, one that doesn't talk to the
disk AT ALL--that might do the trick. I haven't found one of these, and I'm
too lazy to make one up. :-)
aside: If anyone has done this, can they give the URL/FTP site name where this
boot disk/root fs disk is online? No sense re-inventing the wheel.
SoftWindows will let you have up to 32MB of ram--large enough to seup a modest
VM UNIX...

Izvučeno iz novog TidBITS-a:
Apple Unveils Three New Power Macs
----------------------------------
by Geoff Duncan <geoff@tidbits.com>
Apple today announced the availability of three new desktop
machines: the Power Macintosh 8500, 7500, and 7200. These second-
generation Power Macs put technology introduced in the Power Mac
9500 (see TidBITS-282_) into aggressively priced packages designed
for professionals and mainstream users.
These machines underscore Apple's commitment to the new PCI bus
(each featuring three PCI expansion slots) and DIMM memory
modules. Unlike the 9500, however, each of these machines includes
expandable, multiple-resolution built-in video, audio capture, and
(in the case of the 8500 and 7500) built-in, high-quality video
input. In short, these systems look to offer significantly
improved performance and capability at prices in the range of
today's Power Macs.
**Power Macintosh 8500** -- At the high end of the new machines is
the Power Mac 8500, a mini-tower design similar to the existing
8100 in terms of appearance, but revised in nearly every other
respect. The heart of the 8500 is an upgradable 120 MHz PowerPC
604 processor on a removable daughterboard, similar to the 9500,
which should offer snappy performance even at computing-intensive
tasks. The 8500 also features three PCI expansion slots, a Fast
SCSI internal SCSI bus capable of transferring up to 10 MB per
second (external SCSI will handle up to 5 MB/sec), a 256K level 2
cache on a DIMM, and an internal Apple quad-speed CD-ROM drive.
The unit has 8 DIMM slots for RAM expansion (with 16 MB of RAM
standard), has a bay for an additional internal storage, and is
available with either a 1 GB or 2 GB internal hard disk. There is
at least one major headache with the Power Mac 8500: although
access to the PCI slots and CPU daughterboard is simple, like the
8100 and 9500 before it adding RAM requires removing the entire
motherboard.
Video support in the Power Mac 8500 is exceptional. Unlike the
Power Mac 9500 (which must use a PCI card for video), the 8500
comes with high-quality internal video supporting resolutions up
to 1280 by 1024 pixels, a 64-bit data path to the VRAM, and 2 MB
of VRAM that's upgradable to 4 MB (which would support 24-bit
video out to 1152 by 870 pixels). The Power Mac 8500 comes with
composite and S-video input _and_ output, with 24-bit video real-
time playthrough up to 640 by 480 (NTSC) or 768 by 576 (SECAM and
PAL). The Power Mac 8500 can also capture 24-bit video at 25
frames per second using NTSC at sizes up to 320 by 240 (quarter-
screen), and has 24-bit NTSC and PAL video output described as
"near broadcast quality" by Apple. These video capabilities exceed
anything offered by Apple on previous Macs (including the AV
options on previous machines); however, they aren't part of an
optional AV add-on. Every Power Mac 8500 ships with this video
horsepower.
The 8500 doesn't stop there. The machine features both RCA phono
and mini jack stereo audio input and output, all supporting 16-bit
audio and 44 kHz sampling rates. Like the 9500, the 8500 features
built-in Ethernet via both Apple's AAUI and the more common
10BASE-T connector. Also, the 8500 includes an internal DAV
(digital audio/video) connector for video
compression/decompression cards.
In addition, the 8500 ships with an armful of new software that
you wouldn't ordinarily expect. Like the 9500 before it, the 8500
ships with System 7.5.2, including Open Transport, more PowerPC-
native core code, speech recognition and text-to-speech
capability, and an improved 680x0 emulator for running non-native
applications. But the 8500 also includes QuickDraw 3D, support for
QuickTime Conferencing (QuickTime-based video conferencing from
Apple), plus a plethora of goodies such as a version of Apple's
Control Strip which works on desktop Macs and enhanced sound and
display control panels which are fully scriptable. The QuickDraw
3D and QuickTime Conferencing software will work on the Power Mac
9500, 8500, 7500, and 7200, and Apple says it will synchronize the
software bundles with each machine.
Done yet? Not quite. The suggested prices for the Power Mac 8500
begin at $3,900 (keyboard and monitor sold separately), with
correspondingly higher prices for a 2 GB internal drive.
**Power Macintosh 7500** -- If the 8500 is aimed at high-end
users, developers, multimedia authoring, and video production,
then the Power Macintosh 7500 is the "enterprise" machine of
Apple's new product line, targeted at mainstream application users
who are looking for good value in a machine that can deliver power
and performance in day-to-day tasks. Starting around $2,700, the
7500 offers decent performance, video, and future expandability.
The Power Mac 7500 is built around a 100 MHz PowerPC 601 processor
on a daughterboard, and features a new desktop case design (which
it shares with the new Power Mac 7200). As with the 8500, the
Power Mac 7500 offers three PCI expansion slots, an Apple quad-
speed CD-ROM drive, a Fast SCSI internal SCSI bus capable of up to
10 MB per second (the external SCSI handles up to 5 MB/sec), 16 MB
of RAM standard, a bay for an internal storage device, and either
a 500 MB or 1 GB internal hard disk. The 7500's audio capabilities
match the 8500, with phono and mini jack stereo audio input and
output at 16 bits and up to 44 kHz sampling rates. The 7500's
video hardware is also like the 8500's, with 2 MB of VRAM
(expandable to 4 MB), a 64-bit data path to the VRAM, and display
support up to 1280 by 1024 pixels.
The 7500's video input capabilities are nearly as impressive, with
both composite and S-video input, real-time video playthrough up
to 640 by 480 pixels (NTSC) or 768 by 576 (PAL and SECAM), and
24-bit 320 by 240 (quarter-screen) video capture at 15 frames per
second with NTSC. What's missing in comparison to the 8500 is
video output capability; although the 7500 comes with an internal
DAV connector to plug in video compression/decompression boards,
the video capability in the 7500 is aimed more toward video
conferencing and basic capture than toward production and high-end
output. The Power Mac 7500 ships with the same software bundle as
the 8500.
One welcome feature in the new 7000-series Power Macs is inside
the box: the chassis where the internal hard disk, CD-ROM, floppy
drive, and power supply are mounted is hinged, so the entire
chassis can unsnapped and swung upward without disconnecting any
of the components. (One of the plastic chassis connectors even
functions as a "kickstand" which prevents the unit from becoming
unbalanced and toppling over.) This allows easy access to the
VRAM, 8 DIMM slots, PCI expansion slots (which have their own
swing-out vents) and the CPU daughterboard. Getting memory and
other components in and out of the new 7000-series case should be
a breeze, especially compared to the much more awkward 8500 and
9500.
The Power Mac 7500 has a replaceable CPU daughterboard, and Apple
is already saying the machine will be upgradable to a PowerPC 604
processor. The unit also has space for an optional 256K to 1 MB of
level 2 cache, so there are a variety of options for wrenching
more performance out of the machine.
**Power Macintosh 7200** -- The Power Mac 7200 rounds out the
lower end of Apple's new Power Macintosh offerings, and is
available in two configurations surround a 75 MHz or 90 MHz
PowerPC 601 processor. It shares its external case with the Power
Mac 7500, along with its quad-speed CD-ROM drive and decent video
display capabilities (although it comes with only 1 MB of VRAM
standard). However, the Power Mac 7200 features neither video
capture nor video output, so video conferencing or QuickTime
authoring are trickier propositions requiring PCI peripherals. The
7200 does come with three PCI expansion slots, but it also has a
slower SCSI bus than the 8500 or 7500 (up to 5 MB/sec internal or
external), only 4 DIMM slots and 8 MB of RAM standard, and an
optional level 2 cache that can be increased to 512K. Apple has no
planned CPU upgrade for the 7200 (although Apple does promise an
upgrade - probably an expensive one - to a 7500).
But don't knock the 7200 too hard: it wasn't so long ago when Mac
users would have been very happy to see a machine like this, and
with a suggested price starting at $1,700 (75 MHz model) to $1,900
(90 MHz model), the 7200 should have a healthy life with same sort
of customers who currently are considering Power Mac 6100s. The
7200 should prove a capable machine for home, small business, and
education users, who need PowerPC capability at a decent price.
**The "Promise" of PCI** -- Apple's new Power Macs deliver on the
technology introduced earlier in the Power Mac 9500, and take
Apple further toward being a RISC-based platform using industry-
standard PCI components. At MacWorld Expo in Boston this week,
Apple will be waving around impressive lists of manufacturers who
have committed to ship (or are shipping) PCI cards for Power Macs.
However, the long-term proof of PCI on the Macintosh remains to be
seen. In the Windows world - where PCI has been an option for some
time - software drivers are the fly in the ointment. Vendors and
manufacturers are constantly updating drivers and components,
resulting in a confusing panoply of versions, updaters, and
hardware. Although it's true that Apple started its PCI efforts on
more solid ground - with a well-defined API for Macintosh drivers,
a better hardware standard, and a lot of hand-holding for vendors
- it remains to be seen whether these efforts will pay off in the
long run. After all, in many cases Apple is dealing with the same
vendors who are principal instigators of driver-confusion under
Windows. With luck, Apple will be able to work with PCI vendors
and maintain the levels of quality and ease-of-installation that
Macintosh users have come to expect and which add so much value to
the platform. But with only a few months of real-world PCI history
behind us, it's just too soon to tell.

> Postoji li ovde neki spisak svih PowerMac modela ?
daleko bolje. Pročitaj poruku, ne znam tačan broj poruke, tu ćeš naći više
detalja.
> Naravno, zanima me i oficijelan, a i onaj drugi nacin nabavke i red
Ostali (Meridijan Trade,
ocarinjeno. Nisam se raspitivao. Što se upoređivanja cena tiče, nema smisla
govoriti u našim uslovima, tj. upoređivati cenu PowerMac-a ovde i nekog PC-a
ovde.
Dakle, 486/66, 8 Mb
RAM, 1 Gb SCSI disk, interni CD, Soundblaster, Ethernet kartica, tastatura, miš
(bez monitora) je platio 4500 DM. Kako se Quadra 650 ne proizvodi otkad su
došli PowerMac-ovi, moraću nekako drugačije da ovo predstavim. 4500/1,7 =
(približno) $2650. Prema cenama iz julskog broja MacUser-a:
PowerMac 6100/66 16 Mb RAM, 1 Gb hard disk, CD $2495
Apple Design Tastatura (miš uvek ide uz mašinu) $75
Ethernet transiver (kartica je built-in) $50
---------------
$2610
mac.790madamov,
Hello Milan,

this electronic response.
MachTen is an implementation of Berkeley's 4.3BSD Unix, built on a Carnegie
Mellon Mach foundation (Mach 2.5). It runs as an application on the native
Macintosh Operating System (MacOS). Included with MachTen are Unix
programs and a Mach kernel. The kernel supports a standard Unix
applications environment which supports hundreds of standard Unix
applications. That environment also allows all standard Macintosh
programs, such as a Macintosh spreadsheet or desk accessory application, to
run simultaneously with Unix programs. MachTen extends MacOS with true
Unix multitasking, full internet communications, a distributed file system
via NFS, and a Unix software development environment. MachTen runs on all
modern Macintoshes -- including Classic, Quadras, Centris, and Duos and
PowerBooks. MachTen is the only Unix that runs on a PowerBook!
Today, MachTen runs on Power Macintosh in emulation mode (without MachTen
virtual memory). Very shortly, the native PPC version of MachTen will be
released; this will be offered as a free upgrade to new customers.
Tenon offers two MachTen packages: Personal MachTen and Professional MachTen.
Personal MachTen includes the basic GNU C compiler (version 1.4) and
C preprocessor, a Motorola 68000 assembler, a loader, a symbol table utility,
load module tools (ar and ranlib), a software management tool (make), a set
of Tenon compiler libraries, a set of Unix libraries, a language checker and
beautifier, lex and yacc. Among the libraries included are
a MachTen Unix system call library, the curses library, NFS library support,
termcap library support, and a math library that provides an interface to
Apple's Standard Apple Numerics Environment(tm).
Professional MachTen, Release 2.2VM, includes all the features of the
Personal package, but, in addition, supports virtual memory and protection
for Unix applications. Since the Professional package is not limited by
real memory, it also supports the GNU source debugger (gdb) and an advanced
version of the GNU compiler, version 2.3.3, which includes a C++ compiler
in addition to the GNU C compiler.
Both packages run on all Macintoshes, but you need memory management support
to take advantage of the advanced software development tools included with
the Professional system.
Both Personal MachTen and Professional MachTen include online 'man' pages,
in the traditional Unix style as well as in HyperCard, a User's Guide and a
System and Network Administration manual. An optional X software package
is also available.
Tenon's MachTen X Window Software, Release 3.1, is a comprehensive X
display server and X client development environment.
The MachTen X server is a high-performance X Window display server that
conforms to X11, Release 5, of MIT's X Window System and runs in
conjunction with MachTen and MacOS. MachTen's internet connectivity lets
you use X to access X applications anywhere in your client/server
environment. Tenon's MachTen X Server software includes mwm, the Motif
Window Manager and olvwm, the Open Look Virtual Window Manager. Our X
server supports monochrome and 8-bit color, X lib extensions for
device-independent color, an X Display Manager to simplify management of X
applications, bitmap fonts in portable compiled font format, outline fonts
(including Speedo outline fonts) and an executable font server.
The MachTen X Window client software is an X11 application development
environment based on MIT's X Window System X11, Release 5. Tenon's X Client
software is designed to be used in conjunction with MachTen. It enables
the development of X applications under MachTen on the Macintosh. Included
in the package are X programming libraries (e.g. Xlib, Xt, Xau, Xext, Xi
and phigs), Athena widgets and utilities (e.g. Xaw, Xmu and Xdmcp), Motif
(version 1.1.4) programming libraries (Xm, Mrm, UIL) and demonstration
source (mre, widgetview, xmeditor, xrn), an xview programming environment
(xview, olgx), and configuration files (the imake configuration system).
Also included are complete sources for the MIT X client and demonstration
applications.

RAM requirements:
8MB of RAM are recommended, especially when doing Unix or X development.
Disk space usage:
MachTen operating system may be installed without the software development
tools. The operating system itself takes about 16MB; the software
development tools adds about 13MB. The X software package will consume 35MB
if you install all the x server and fonts, X client development environment,
and X applications. If you compile all the X applications and keep them on
disk, you can absorb quite a bit more disk space. The X server, by itself,
without the fonts, consumes 5MB on disk.
The following frequently asked questions are answered below.
Q. How does MachTen differ from A/UX?
Q. What networking support does MachTen provide?
Q. On what media is MachTen distributed?
Q. What add-on hardware is supported?
Q. Does the "xxx" software package run on MachTen?
Q. Does MachTen interoperate with other versions of Unix?
A/UX is an older version of Unix - System V, version 2, runs on the
the high end Macintoshes only, and is very expensive in terms of memory
and disk space required. With MachTen you don't have to partition
your disk - we support a single file system. MachTen sits on top of the
MacOS, which means that you don't need special device drivers.
Apple does not plan to port A/UX to any new machines.
Q. What networking support does MachTen provide?
The kernel includes the full TCP suite of protocols, including telnet
and ftp, the Berkeley r-series, and NFS. MachTen works over LocalTalk,
ethernet and TokenTalk, and can route between these networks. MachTen
includes both client and server NFS.
MachTen provides interoperability with applications that rely on MacTCP
such as MacX and Eudora by trapping MacTCP internals with Tenon's mactcp
daemon.
MachTen interoperates with AppleShare servers.
For serial line connectivity, UUCP, cu, SLIP and PPP are provided. MachTen
makes use of the serial port portion of the Macintosh Communication Toolbox
(CTB) if installed; otherwise it controls the serial port directly.
Using AppleTalk Remote, it is possible to dial into your AppleTalk environment
and then use MachTen TCP communications across your AppleTalk network.
MachTen includes the Berkeley socket library.
Q. On what media is MachTen distributed?
MachTen is distributed on high-density 3 1/2" floppy disks. (Double-density
disks for Personal MachTen are available by special order.)
Q. What add-on hardware is supported.
Because MachTen sits on top of the Macintosh File system and
interoperates with the Finder, all add-on hardware should work under
MachTen. MachTen has been used with Syquest drives, Bernoulli drives,
accelerators, multiport serial cards, ethernet cards (NuBus and SCSI)
and video cards, among others.
Q. Does the "xxx" software package run on MachTen?
Most Unix software packages can be ported to MachTen in a
straightforward way. MachTen is a "vanilla" BSD 4.3 system, with
standard BSD libraries. To run on systems with small amounts of
memory and no PMMU, it is sometimes necessary to avoid large automatic
variables by using malloc/free. Because the Macintosh file system
doesn't support hard links, MachTen supports only symbolic links. In
some circumstances this necessitates substituting rename(2) for
link(2).
Tenon recommends Professional MachTen for software porting and development.
Q. Does MachTen interoperate with other versions of Unix?
Yes. It can network with all standard TCP/IP implementations. We can
exchange tar-format floppies with other Unix machines such as SCO and
A/UX. MachTen's NFS has been used with Sun systems, IBM R/6000 and NeXT,
among others.
Please don't hesitate to ask questions.

nas i svuda kostaju isto.
mac.792madamov,
-> #791, djcorto
Zbog skupoće doterivanja Mac-a ovamo. Nemaš tržište da bi naručivao ni
desetak komada i rasklapao na komponente i švercovao (sakrivao). Dakle morao
ceo.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Can I get a DOS card with/for my computer?
Orange Micro has developed a DOS card that is fully compatible with our
system. The current DOS card product from Reply Corporation is designed to
work with 66MHz machines only (e.g. Power Macintosh 6100/66). Reply is
currently developing a DOS card for MacOS compatible PowerPC machines that
run at a faster clock rate (e.g. all Power Computing machines, and Power
Macintosh 7100/8100, etc.)
At this time, Power Computing Corporation does not offer a DOS card as an
option, but we are closely examining the possibility of doing so in the
future.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) When will you release 604 and PCI-based machines?
We plan to release 604 and PCI-based machines this fall. No further details
are available at this time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3) When will you release a 6100-based (i.e. lower-end) machine?
We plan to release a lower-end machine before the end of the year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
4) Can I buy a machine without a hard drive or with no RAM?
All of our machines ship with at least 8MB of RAM. We do not currently offer
machines without hard drives. Our smallest hard drive at this time is 365MB.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
5) When will your tower configurations be available?
Tower machines are available now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
6) What payment methods do you accept?
We currently accept credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American
Express) and prepayment. Net 30 terms are available for Fortune 500
companies, educational institutions, and government agencies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
7) How much is shipping?
Power Computing ships all domestic orders via Federal Express. Exact
shipping costs are based upon the items orders and the shipping destination.
However, a computer and a monitor shipped via 2 Day Air will cost about
$100. Shipping for a computer alone will run about $50.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
8) Do I have to pay sales tax?
Residents of California and Texas will be charged sales tax.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
9) Are Educational Discounts available?
Not at this time. We plan to announce an educational program this fall.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
10) What RAM configurations are available?
Power Computing machines can support anywhere from 8MB to 200MB of RAM. Our
machines have eight SIMM slots, which are divided into four banks. The first
two slots are populated with 4MB SIMMs, which cannot be upgraded. Therefore,
six slots are available for RAM upgrades.
Power Computing machines utilize 80ns 72-pin SIMMs.
RAM is user-installable and the SIMM slots are easily accessed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
11) What hard drive bays are available?
Our systems come with two 5.25" half-height, front-accessible drive bays,
one 3.5" full-height internal bay that can also be used for two
half-height's, and one 3.5" half-height internal bay (mounted vertically).
Our cabling only supports 4 internal SCSI devices currently, though you
could conceivably put 5 half-height drives in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
12) Does Power Computing Corporation sell through resellers?
At this time, Power Computing only sells through mail-order. We are,
however, exploring the possibility of adding a VAR channel in the future.
If you are interested in becoming a VAR for Power Computing, please fax a
company profile to (512) 250-3390 to the attention of "VAR Sales."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
13) Will Power Computing Corporation sell motherboards to OEM vendors?
The OEM channel is an important one to us and we definitely plan to support
OEM vendors in the future. If you are interested in OEMing Power Computing
motherboards, please fax a company profile to (512) 250.3390 to the
attention of "OEM Sales."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
14) Do you plan to release a notebook computer?
We will likely release either a notebook or a sub-notebook computer, but it
will not be until next year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
15) Why are your cases so boxy?
Power Computing Corporation's mission is to increase the market share of the
MacOS by selling quality computers at the lowest possible price. One of the
ways to do this is by using standard, PC-style cases. A proprietary,
industrial-design case adds from $200 to $600 to the cost of a machine. All
of our current designs feature a custom and stylish front bezel.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
16) Do you have a Developer program?
We are seriously looking into the prospect of creating a developer program.
If you are interested in taking part in such a program, please fax a company
profile to (512) 250-3390 to the attention of "Developer Sales."

From: CyberDog91@aol.com
Subject: Chiron v2.4 Release Folder 1
Thanks for checking out Chiron v2.4 for the Macintosh. A complete online
manual for dealing with your Macs problems.
WHAT'S NEW?
Over 300 additional system error listings have been added. A chapter
explaining over 20 of the most common system errors is also included at the
request of several users.
WHAT IS CHIRON?
Chiron is a self-running application that contains a wealth of information
helpful to most Macintosh users. This version of Chiron includes information
on the following subjects:
- System Error Code Listings - These chapters list and describe the type of
system errors indicated by the I.D. number in System Error dialogs. Also
includes in depth description of over 20 of the most common errors.
- Virus and Trojan Horse Listing - This chapter lists and explains all
currently known Macintosh virus and trojan horses, plus ways to prevent virus
and trojan horse infections and simple ways to clense your system of those
unwanted viruses.
- Newton Error Codes - This chapter explains what the various error codes
are for Apple's Personal Digital Assistant (PDA).
- The Sad Mac - This chapter is very helpful if you can't get a Mac to start
up. Often, if there is a problem with the hardware the Macintosh will
display an error code at start-up time (often referred to as a "Sad Mac").
This describes what the problems these error codes represent on ALL
Macintosh's from the Mac 128k up to the latest models, excluding the
PowerMacs.
- Crash Recovery Strings - This chapter contains all the information I could
find on using your Macintosh's programmer switch (see user manual for more
info) to successfully recover from a crash with only minimal damage's.
- How to Avoid Another Bomb - This chapter explains how you can prevent that
dreaded bomb dialog.
IS THIS FREEWARE?
Yep, no charge. I originally compiled this information for my own personal
reference. But, at the request of several Mac Users I have posted it online.

> Well? :)
slučaju, aplikaciju Adobe Illustrator verziju 5.5 (PowerPC native verzija). U
su bitni podaci minimum i preferred size: 3100 Kb i 4700 Kb u slučaju
Illustratora 5.5.

This week's issue brings information about two important hardware
issues: disks that lose their data while you repair them and
third-party printers that won't print from PCI Macs. In addition,
we explain how to better handle sending attachments and large
files to and from AOL, and we take a look at Apple's newly
released QuickTime 2.1.

In the last issue of MacSN you read about Majora 1.4 by
Miguel Frias (mac@pobox.com). Unfortunately, it was a mistake.
These are the latest versions of Miguel's programs:
MiniSoundReader 2.0a - new version now compatible with SoundManager 3.1
Mac2Unix 1.5 - Different disposition of things. Added the "Join files"
feature.
Majora 1.1b - Some bug fixes (including the version). Version 1.4 does
NOT exist.
Sorry, Miguel!

Tune into TidBITS this week to learn some hot (and unfortunate)
news about PowerBook 5300-series batteries. You'll also find
Tonya expressing frustration over the missed opportunity in
ClarisWorks 4.0's HTML converter, plus info on a contest to
determine the security of Macintosh-based Web servers. And if you
want a vanity-plate Internet site, the world just changed: check
out Glenn Fleishman's analysis of the new charge for registering
Internet domain names.

Hi,
here is the new version 2.5.2 of CopyPaste with some important bugfixes.
CopyPaste 2.5.2 allows you to use up to 9 independent numbered clipboards
by just typing a number between 1 and 9 during the process of cut copy or
paste by keyboard before you release the command key. You can use the 9
clipboards by sub-menus in the edit menu of any application as well.

Ja gledao FormZ na delu. Pristup modeliranju i juzer interfejs

drugo, neki čak u jedan paket uguraju i animaciju. Nije mi bliska oblast pa
nešto slabije pratim, ali ima softvera. Inače, pravo naziv je formXZ gde je X

It updates the previous version 1.1 already in the archives.
New tidbits at 1.2: how to transpose the N-up page order to go down rather

Povodom pitanja kakvi cad programi postoje za mac-a i sl.
U mojoj firmi "Elektoistok" - Sektor Projektovanje Macintosh je
nasao primenu u projektovanju, a samim tim i u obradi crteza jos od
modela 512 K (1984 god.)
Koristili smo razne cad programe:
Macdraw II
ClarisCad 1.0
ClarisCad 2.0
MiniCad+
Autocad 10 for mac
DesignCad
VersaCad i td:
lako i td.

Subject: ProFont Distribution 1.2
This is version 1.2 of the ProFont distribution. ProFont is a version
monospaced font whose 9 pt bitmap version is similar to Monaco 9 but
with improved readability. It includes slashed zeros, seriffed ells,
etc. It is a good font for programmers. New since the 1.1.1 release is
the extension of ProFont to include the full Macintosh Extended ASCII
Character Set. Users of ProFont who use languages other than English
should be especially pleased.
The ProFont Distribution includes outline versions of ProFont (TrueType

the ProFont 9 bitmap font. Installation instructions are included for
System 7.x.x (including 7.5.1) on 68K and Power Macs. ProFont *still*

mac.887janko,
No, eto, sada, kome treba, bar zna kako se čudo zove i ko ga pravi...

After publishing the first issue of DealBITS, we anxiously
watched our new Apple Internet Server 6150. Although it took a
little longer than we expected to process the several thousand
mailing list requests that came in over the first 24 hours, for
the most part the server performed as we had hoped. Thanks to
all of you who subscribed to the mailing list or who retrieved
the first issue in some way! Without your interest, there would
be no point in publishing DealBITS.
To inquire about placing a deal in DealBITS, send email to
<dealbits-admin@tidbits.com>.
**What is DealBITS?** DealBITS is a twice-monthly electronic
publication, dedicated to bringing deals to Macintosh users.
Our goal in publishing DealBITS is to encourage the creation of
deals and to create a level playing field where all companies
can afford to participate equally, regardless of the size of
their marketing budgets. DealBITS is published by the same
folks who publish TidBITS, a weekly electronic newsletter with
news, views, and reviews regarding the Macintosh and electronic
communications. DealBITS and TidBITS are separate publications.
**Where is DealBITS?** DealBITS is available via email in two
ways. To receive only the current issue, send email to
<dealbits@tidbits.com>. To join a distribution list that sends
you each issue when it comes out, send email to
<dealbits-on@tidbits.com>. You can sign off the list by sending
email to <dealbits-off@tidbits.com>. DealBITS is also available
via the Web and FTP (use the first FTP URL with Netscape, the
second with Anarchie or Fetch):

**Mailing List Bounces** -- If you subscribed to DealBITS but
didn't receive the issue, several things may have happened.
First, the confirmation of your subscription bounced, so we
removed you from the list. Try subscribing again from a more
stable account, or with a valid return address. Second,
something temporarily messed up your email access and the issue
bounced. Third, something has gone wrong on the server, at
which point we're certainly aware of it and are working
frantically to fix it. We'll announce any such problems on the
Web page.

Exchange mountovale DOS diskove.
mac.899stanic,
Imam jedno malo pitanje.
zove) i hoce da radi sa AutoCad-om 12 for DOS. Problem je sto joj fali
koprocesor tj. program nece da radi ni pod tackom razno. Postoji li nacin

Power Macintosh 8500, no nije važno, blago tvojoj kumi. B)
emulator, bilo hardverski bilo softverski.

Izvini, a sta radi AutoCAD-om ?
PowerPC cip ???
autodesk prati Microsoft, a oni bas niosu prostalice PowerPC-ja,
sistema i softvera malo cudan. Jedino ako ima DOS Compatibility
card, no i onda je cupavo, sve su to emulacije... :(

lepote.

PreP grupacije (Motorola, IBM).
